Safety First!!!

I read this story on cnn.com and got a major kick out of it.

Thought others might also…

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/Central/05/14/store.rampage.ap/index.html

Especially this part:

“Police said Perala took off his shirt and put on safety glasses before throwing around computers, phones and other items.”

Ironic, ain’t it?

man that’s pretty wild. At least he wore his safety glasses. ^^

that was pretty weird. thank god he wore his safety goggles first, the ppl at robotics would be proud. lol. seriously, the ppl monitoring always know when u’re not wearing ur googles.

What I’m wondering is does he happen to just carry safety glasses with him everywhere he goes? He said he was going there to “yell at the employees only” (quoted from the article). The fact that he brought the safety glasses and put them on before he started to trash the store makes it sound like it was his original plan after all.

Or maybe he always carrys his safety glasses when going to the mall. It just might be a “rough” mall to go shopping in! :ahh:

well…the other question is… why did he take off his shirt?

That’s what I was wondering. Perhaps it was a baggy shirt, and he didn’t wish for it to get caught in something. They taught us that in chem class. Teehee.

you dont carry safety goggles with you?? i have 2 pairs in my locker and one in my school bag and 3 in my room … i would have one in my purse too, but i carry one of those really small purses that dont hold anything, so they dont fit …

Of course, I am always properly equipped with safety goggles, a welder’s mask, chem apron, and, of course, a HAZMAT suit, just in case.

I wonder what qualifies somthing as “Simple Assault”.

You know you’re a geek when …

Safty always comes first, especially in the MOE pit.

"Safty always comes first, especially in the MOE pit. "

Hehe! Yay for shameless self plugs! I am Proud of MOE! I’m sure Parela is too :P.

Let me guess, MOE has the “green light” to practice Safety in the pits?

Fantastic humor on MOE here…hmmm to think of one… they keep things MOE safe with their bright green lights? Bad humor eh…who can think of good MOE safety humor?

The last sentence of the article amused me. If I were to be arrested, I don’t think I’d mind so much if the word “mischief” was in the name of the crime.

The problem with safty glasses is when your looking at our shirts the brightness is so great that you have to wear safty glasses that are sun glasses so you protect your eyes from the blinding green.

Hmmm a wonderful safety precaution would be sunglass-eyeprotectors. Actaully, I wore my sunglasses around the pits during all of nationals, and everyone told me I had “neat eye protectors.” is that a good thing?
