Hi Everyone,
Our team, Iron Panthers (#5026), along with our partners, Bot Provoking (#4904) and BREAD(#5940), are organizing the robotics demo/outreach area at the San Mateo County Fair that runs from June 10th through the 18th. 1538 puts on a small exhibition tournament at the San Diego Country Fair each year. I think it’d be dope if we could do the same. In any case, 5499 is interested in helping out / displaying our robot / etc.

That’s a really awesome idea. I’ll bring it up with the other teams.

Just as a recommendation out of the teams going if any of you have a gear only robot but built a shooting robot back in 2016 then you may want to also bring that. From my experience at demos everyone favorite part, especially the kids is thing getting thrown from the robot.

Our floor gear broke in our last match at champs and we didn’t get around to repairing it so I spent this afternoon trying to fix it. It turns out it was a lot worse than any of us anticipated, so we have no idea how things will go on Monday during the fair. Ideally we’ll have fixed it by then.

FRC #8 will be demoing on 6/17 and 6/18 between 12 to 3 PM both days.

I just wanted to know if you will have gears for teams to use in their demos. Or if we will have to bring our own.

Also, will there be space for our team’s banner/flag?

Lastly, will we need to talk about our team and FRC at the demo? Or will it just be cycling our robot around on a field?

Probably want to bring a few.

Yes.
