Sandstorm Strat

What you think will be a good Sandstorm action at weeks 1-2? what will be the Sandstorm strat at champs? what your plan?

it purely depends on the robot and team. whether they will autonomous or drive

And looking and the what and not the how, what will be a good score from the sandstorm?

I certainly expect a lot more activity this year than during autos; most low-mid teams are capable of getting at least one camera working, and will go tele-op or hybrid.
The two key tasks for the sandstorm as I see it are scoring as many hatch panels as possible to get pre-populated cargo secured (and scored), and the sandstorm bonuses. I expect that teams which pre-load hatches in the robot will be more likely to start at L1 so they can improve the chances of finishing another cycle or two before the sandstorm ends, and those which pre-load cargo will be more likely to start at L2 because the difference between placing cargo at the end of the sandstorm and the beginning of teleop is not as great.

Added: score - in early weeks, I think that most qualifiers will see about 9-12 sandstorm bonus points and about three game pieces scored per alliance; in elims more like a solid 12 and five or six game pieces scored.

if you want to see something that could be accurate, i’d check the week -6 comp or the Kettering ri3d comp

I would advising designing your robot so that you don’t drop your battery when you leeroy off of the platform, because the GIFing fingers will be quick, and will be merciless.

How many of the entries in Dr. Joe’s GIF of the Week contests will feature robots losing their battery as they imitate the General Lee?

I sincerely hope that any team which “sends” an L2 climb figures out that their battery should not fly like a fish. I am often disappointed.

a wise man once said “remember, for accuracy, it’s ‘kobe!’, for power and distance it’s ‘YEET!’”

I disagree because of the statement “high risk high reward” therefor if the risk is lower by taping down the battery the reward is lower which also means that it is more efficient for teams to not hold down their battery which increases their rewards.

Please punctuate. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. It really reads like you think that having a battery fly is rewarding.

“Can you fly, Bobby?”
