Can you first qualify what counts as a sandwich?
Recently heard at one of our meetings:
These questions breed chaos. Either everything is a sandwich or nothing is a sandwich!
At best it’s a burrito.

Hard to pick a very favorite, but ham, salami, mortadella, swiss, provolone, and olive salad has to be on my short list.

According to Merriam Webster a sandwich is: two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between
But ice cream between waffles looks pretty good
This is a new one to me!
I personally prefer the Swiss, ham, pickle, pulled pork , and mustard combo

Personally, I’m a fan of a good Reuben. You just can’t beat that.

I just made two Reubens (close enough anyway, I was out of pastrami and substituted corned beef) and ate them in the past hour.
I’m also a fan of the Philly cheese steak (American or Cheddar).

What is the best type of cheese for a sandwich?
Personally I like Swiss or Mozzarella on my sandwiches/ subs.
I’m a big fan of breakfast sandwiches, and I especially love to cook them after a morning run.
Toasted and buttered whole wheat English muffin, melted on cheese of the week (I like to rotate through Sharp Cheddar, American, Muenster, Gouda, Mozzarella, etc), an over easy egg, a slice of Canadian bacon with a little genuine maple syrup drizzled on, and lightly salted avocado.

Just had a Genoa Salami, Swiss and Honey Ham wrap, brown mustard and heated. Not a sandwich. Very tasty.

For a simple sandwich nothing is better than a ham sandwich with mustard. For a more advanced sandwich i would have to go with a Reuben or a French Dip.
