We wanted to be done today, but alas, it was not to be.
Lots of progress but still a few more days of work & programming left to go.
How is everyone else doing?
Anybody bold enough to post photos?
We may post something toward the end of Week 6 – two weeks from today.
Hard to believe that two weeks from Tuesday we all have kiss our robots goodbye.

We’ve got a functional drive base and are working out the bugs. Also our other ‘goodies’ are being prepared…

Joe,
Two weeks of practice this year for you - I’m impressed.
All we have running right now of the real bot is the base (as of Saturday). The rest has a long way to go. I’m already starting to panic. Oh well, we can always just drive around and run into everyone and create 300+ G’s of force without a bumper :-).
It seems that I went through the disillusionment (SP?) phase a week earlier last year. That is why I am panicing. I really don’t want to spend the entire first regional in the pits fixing the stuff (does that sound familiar to you, Joe? :-)). Good luck to everyone else.

We are driving the base with good progress being made on the other systems. They have been on in prototype modes but the finished product is a long ways off. We have managed a first for us this year - all the motors will be on the machine - no electrical power left in the crate. I not sure if we can handle them all but we will be going really fast while we are out of control!
We will post photos on our webpage in a couple of weeks

We finally got our drive base running last night…
BTW, no tank treads and no more chains falling off!
I feel the need… the need for speed!

Same here…there’s still a few small changes we have to make, mainly in terms of control…it doesn’t like going quite straight right now… but we were running great until we overheated the motors last night… =)

would love to post photos, but dont wanna give ideas away that i am not allowed to. we are up and running, have been for awhile, all we need now is a little paint and we’ll be all set. maybe we were the only team that didn’t run into problems (such as our robot running crazy through the shop) good luck on the robots, guys and gals.

We’ve posted some pictures from when we first put our base together. We only have our fanatastic control board and drive system shown in the pictures, but we’ll post alot more after we ship our robot.
You can see the pictures at the link below.
Good luck!
