WPI is proud once again to be hosting our annual Savage Soccer event this fall.
Savage Soccer was developed as an inexpensive way to introduce new freshmen and sophomores on the team to what FIRST is like in a smaller scale. However, it has grown since 1995 to be an event with over 60 teams from schools all over New England and satellite events around the country.
Savage Soccer kicks off this year on October 18th, where the competition will be released. The event will be held live at WPI and webcast for everyone to view. The WPI event will be held on November 15th, 2008.
For more information, to read past years game rules, or to register a team go to http://www.wpi.edu/~savage/. Send any questions you may have to savage@wpi.edu. All you need to compete is a VEX robotics kit, a few friends, and some enthusiasm!
If you are interested in attending one of the other Savage Soccer events, you can visit http://www.wpi.edu/~savage for more information on dates, locations, costs, etc.
We always welcome new Savage Soccer events throughout the world. If you are interested in hosting an event, please contact us! It is not required that you follow our exact schedule, but if you wish to, field drawings and rules will be available one week prior to kickoff. Savage Soccer events are a great way to promote robotics in your area, provide kids with a hands-on learning opportunity, and even raise funds for your FIRST, VEX, or other robotics team!
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL VEX or FTC EVENT!
Gus Robotics is ready for another great Savage Soccer event. We had two teams last year, I’m hoping for four teams this year. See everyone there.
Interesting game designed by the game designers at WPI.
Fairly complicated in my mind, but a simple principle behind it all. good job guys.

Does your team have a bunch of Vex kits, want another chance to compete in Savage Soccer this year, or even just want to get some of the best barbeque on this side of the Mason-Dixon? Team 228 will be hosting the Savage Soccer South of the Border satellite competition on December 14, 2008 at Maloney High School in Meriden, CT as Colleen posted above.
This event is open to everyone, including teams that registered for the main Savage Soccer event. Event Registration will be FREE!
Rain, snow, sleet, or shine, concessions for the event will be provided by the increasingly famous Big Country Hickory Pit BBQ, seen previously at Where’s Wolcott FRC Offseason Competition, several Connecticut Country Fairs, or at the Meriden Daffodil Festival.
