Scaling lift mechanism assistance needed

We have a telescoping lifting idea, we just need help motorizing it. Does anyone have any experience with motorizing with chains , pulleys, etc.?

What does your telescoping lifting idea look like? How fast do you want to climb/telescope? what is your budget (money, weight, size, etc.)?

Without that info, we can only guess at what your needs are.

Start by getting a copy of JVN’s Design Calculator.

It is easy to learn to use and includes instructions.
Use the “Linear Mechanism” or “Intake Mechanism” tabs to figure out what motor(s), transmission(s) and or reductions will work best for you.

We are using a cascading telescoping design using heavy duty full extension drawer slides. We would like to keep the drive weight under 5 lbs with the gearbox and motor. Size and cost are very flexible for us.

Our main concern is making sure we route the wires correctly to telescope the lift and that the pulley setup we use has a low level of slippage with the wire. I have seen videos of previous designs that worked, but I want our iteration of the concept to work as well.
