my school in Plymouth, MI is looking for a corporate sponsor in Plymouth,MI or Canton,MI. we would need the use of a machine shop too. If you have any info, e-mail me at [email protected] (it is a zero for both, not an o)
While you may be able to get a response through the CD forums, I think your team will have much better chances of recieving a sponsorship by writing up a formal letter and submitting it to nearby companies. Even companies that have nothing to do with robotics are great (Pepsi, Burger King, pizza places… all can save the team money on things not specifically dedicated to robotics. Can even be able to have more team dinners during build sessions).
But again, I would say write up a formal letter. In most situations, you have to initiate contact and a short thread on a public forum may not be considered adequate by many compaines.
I wish you the best.

Chatsworth has wonderful success looking in the yellow pages for machine shops.
You might want to contact your school district’s money raiser. They usually have the list of companies eager to help the school.
In addition, always know where the student team members parents work. It often doesn’t occur to them that they can help you get in the door.
