We are having problems using Inventor after the Microsoft Vista upgrade at the school. We are also having trouble with the framing portion of the program.
Anyone with helpful hints out there?

What do you mean by “problems”? Can you be a bit more specific? Are there any error messages, do you get a black screen, are there only a few things that don’t work, and so on.
My solution, remove Vista.
Really, the reason why I would believe it to work is that Inventor isn’t compatible with Vista yet. Note that I haven’t checked yet  . My friend had that problem with about half of his games too.
Wow, your school already updated to Vista??? Although I think it is/ will be (once I get it maybe) a piece of dooky, “cooker52” is probably right, Inventor needs an earlier operating system.
i would suggest you use a computer with an older version to run Inventor. I know that others were having troubles with Vista and Inventor together. I plan on waiting a while before i get Vista so they can work out all the bugs, and more programs can make themselves compatible with it.
were running linux at our computer labs in school.
internet and word
thats all you need right?
…haha
were workin on gettin a couple of mac book pros
I agree, Vista is a terrible OS in my oppinion. Microsoft released it WAAAAY to soon. There is hardly any compatibility for anything, you have to upgrade almost every part of your computer just to RUN the thing, and there isn’t really that much of a difference at first look. I don’t know specifics but all I can see is it has a cooler theme.
All in all - Wait for Vista if you MUST buy it until Microsoft releases a service pack or two
I run ALL the same app’s in vista as i did in XP. Sometimes you just have to trick the OS into running it. Vista is a better overall operating system then XP in my opinion. And they didn’t really release it that early from the perspectives of the software manufacturers, companies had plenty of time to make their software compatible with vista, many just choose not to. Sure some things are a lil buggy, but i know for a fact that linux and mac were too, so pretty soon vista will be mainstream.
