We have painted and assembled the goals using a 4’ x 10’ orange mesh snow fence for a net in back. It has come to our attention that a ball shot high into the goal can hit the very top of the inside net (right below the crossbar) and bounce out without the entire ball totally breaking the front plane of the goal. This should obviously be counted as a score, so the scoring rule is amended to say that “A BALL ENTERING THE GOAL AND STRIKING THE INSIDE MESH SCREEN WILL ALSO COUNT AS A POINT SCORED, EVEN IF THE ENTIRE BALL DOES NOT BREAK THE FRONT PLANE OF THE GOAL.”
This does not include the cross-braces that are in the upper corners of the goals: if the ball bounces out after hitting one of them it will not count as a point scored unless the entire ball crosses the plane or the ball manages to strike the mesh screen that’s behind the cross-braces.
