I’m here watching the Buckeye on NASA TV, and it seems that they’re counting the stacks as part of the base score. I thought it was (a-s)*s+25r, where a is the number of bins in the scoring zone, s is the number of bins in the tallest stack, and r is the number of bots from your alliance on the HDPE at the end of the match.
I’m assuming this from the end of the HP period, where they’re giving a score of 32 for two stacks of four. 4x4=16… or am I going insane?
Did this change somewhere along the way? Did I miss it? (I’m going to admit that when I read update #20 the first time I was tired and didn’t completely comprehend it as it was written.)
I think they are adding the 2x the losing players score with that, so the real time score is QPs, I’m not sure though…so whatever team is losing the winning team is getting their score plus 2x…
That definitely doesnt sound right, but when i was watching the VCU regional on Thursday the announcer wasnt doing a terrific job, and it seemed like the scores posted were the QP’s. That definitely makes stacking a much more advantageous strategy, but in the last update it stated that the stacks did not count and that your formula was correct. Hopefully they do it the same throughout.
I’ve talked to a few people about this, but apparently their running totals were incorrect, but the final scores were always done using the correct formula.
