Scrimmage/Practice Field Access near Pelham, NY or Waterford, CT

I’m mentoring a rookie team out of Pelham, NY. I’ve just moved here from Chicago and don’t know local teams. Is there anyone hosting scrimmages or allow us access to a field for testing? I’m personally in Waterford, CT so anywhere between here and NY would be great.

I’m not aware of practice fields in the southern and western CT region. I would talk to 230 (@electroken ?) to see if they might know. Shelton seems to be in the “middle”.

We’re working on one but who knows when it will be finished. I’m sure 195 will have one in Southington, CT and I keep hearing rumors of a full practice Field being built at the University of Bridgeport, but haven’t seen it.

Like Ken said here, 195 (Southington, CT - bout an hour North-West of Waterford) should have a practice field available at some point this year. Normally it takes them a few weeks to get it all up & going before they open up to other teams.

I recommend reaching out to 694 (@jblay) or 333 (@Brian_Maher), they’ve been around enough to know who has fields nearby. Might also be some in NJ.

Steel Hawks 2601 have invited other nyc teams in the past to use their practice field ircc.

Welcome to the area. The truly local teams for Waterford are 3719 (New London), 2168 (Groton), 1740 (Ledyard), 1699 (Colchester), 236 (Old Lyme), and 5746 (Deep River), sort of in order of distance. I don’t think anybody is running a real practice field in this area currently, so the options mentioned above are your best bet.

We have a half field in lower manhattan. We usually host a handful of teams over our midwinter break in mid February as well as just before the NYC regional. If your team wants to drop by at any point just email me at [email protected]

Hey, I’m a mentor on 333 at John Dewey High School in Brooklyn. We have a field elements and a full-field carpet set up in our cafeteria most Saturdays and long weekends and often host other teams for practice. If you’re interested, DM me, we’d love to have you.
