Scrimmage This Saturday, March 11 - San Mateo Event Center Field

Hi All!
For those of you in the Northern California area who are not competing this weekend, teams 4904 and 5026 are hosting a scrimmage. If you have a practice bot, bring it! If you don’t, bring an old robot or drivebase and play defense!

Nuts and bolts:

  • The scrimmage will take place in the San Mateo Event Center field on Saturday, March 11th.
  • The field has the minimum components for teams to do all the basic operations, but we don't have enough field elements for a full 6robot match. if you're coming, bringing the following components would be especially helpful (in order of need): climbing rigs, gear pegs and gear lifts, two human player stations, hoppers, gears

  • Official hours for the scrimmage are 11:00 to 2:30. However, the field will be open until 6 if you’d like to stay longer. Just make sure you have a mentor with you.
  • Lunch will not be provided. There are nearby food repositories, but you are on your own on that one.

Driving Directions:
In terms of the exact field location, our building is Sequoia Hall in the San Mateo Event Center. To get to the hall, enter the event center from the East Side parking entrance–there will be a long drive in with toll booths. In the case that there are actual people taking parking tickets, you should be able to get in for free by saying you’re involved with the robotics team.

Drive to Gate 9 and park near the entrance (you sometimes are not allowed to drive in all the way to the field). The gate should be open and you can walk through to the hall.

If you have any issues, please contact me over CD/email or our mentor at [email protected].

Thanks! Hope you can make it.

Hey! Just a heads up that I can’t access that rsvp form!

Knew I was missing something…Thanks! It should work now, let me know if otherwise.

Huge thank you to teams 4904 and 5026 for putting this on. Both the field and space continue to be a great resource for our testing and drive practice. Thank you to team 114 for practicing defense and offense against us.

We happen to have some footage from the races we ran later in the day. Swerve is pretty sweet, but west-coast drive truly is the best coast drive.

Woah, I left before the races :ahh:

I was the cameraman from team 8, and I have a lot of footage that I will be uploading overnight and will post in this thread. Most of it is footage of our robot cycling, but I also got footage of the race and cycles with defense with 114.
