SCRIW IX (South Carolina Robotics Invitational & Workshops 2019)

Oh, hey, we should probably do a thread too, right?

For the ninth year, teams 1293 and 2815 are nuts enough to proudly present

SCRIW IX

The South Carolina Robotics Invitational & Workshops is the Carolinas’ oldest off-season competition, where we will bring together over two dozen robots for a one-day tournament of DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE presented by The Boeing Company.

SCRIW IX is October 26, 2019 at Dreher High School, same spot as last year. Here’s what to expect:

  • We’ll be playing DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE on a regulation FRC field, with FTA onsite.
  • We expect to play our normal four-team-four-alliance playoff, to ensure everyone gets plenty of qualification matches and ensure nobody has to draft a stricken robot.
  • We sincerely hope there isn’t a natural disaster that requires the fundraising of the Mentor Match, but it’s happened somewhere every year since 2015 (three of those times, within the Carolinas) so we will plan to hold it.
  • We are working with some local folks on an excellent set of workshops and demos from elsewhere in the FIRST progression of programs.

Registration is $350 if you register and pay before July 1, $400 after. B-team entries with a second robot are $200, and if you’re loaning a second robot to a 2020 rookie team there’s no charge.

You can register for SCRIW IX here. See you there!

And if you want to be social, we have a Facebook event you can invite your friends with!

Can’t wait for it, we couldn’t go last year but I’m glad we’re going this year!

Can’t wait to play again with everybody! The kids enjoyed it a lot last year. I think some 342 spirit rubbed off on our younger team members.

We will be coming back, and I believe this time we have convinced some PCH friends to join us.
Let’s get the best NC/PCH/SC teams together for SCRIW this year

One of our favorite competitions. It gives rookie members a taste of what a regional is like.
We can’t wait!

is sign up first come first serve? or is it on a invitation basis?

First-come, first-served.

And speaking of first-come, how about a way-too-early team list?

1102 - M’Aiken Magic
2815 - Blue Devil Mechanics

25 spots left.

We’ve had the list change quite a bit! 1102 had to scratch, but their fellow Georgia buddies 2974 have joined us along with 4451 and a second 342 machine!
