Season Openers...

So I just watched my Patriots get crushed by the Bills… I know tomorrow when I go to school everyone is going to be mad at them and say how bad they are but they aren’t… They just have to many distractions… I mean you lose 2 great veterans… Oatis Smith and Captain Lawyer Milloy(went to the Bills)… I’d rather have one 8 million dollar player(Milloy) rather than two stiffs for 4 million each… Today really was embarrassing but in the second half they started to show they can play… But I think they will bounce back and start winning next week… What do you think about your favorite team’s season opener???

And I enjoyed every minute of that.

My Bills looked mean.
I hope they take it to the next level against the Jags because they have a pair of super nasty games the next two weeks after that playing Philly and at a no doubt very angry Dolphins team.

For once… the Lions actually looked decent. Mariucci is definitely worth the money we’re paying him, as Harrington looked remarkably improved over last season, and Charles Rogers proved he was worth the #2 pick. I won’t say the Lions are “going all the way” by any stretch of the imagination, but I think after a 42-24 win, the days of double-digit-loss records are behind us.

I’m not even closely interested football…but Jeff is right. By this time last year, they lost all their games, and I think this year they’ve won them all (or lost by a 5% margin at the most).

EDIT: Fixed a word that wasn’t supposed to be there.

The Lions have only played one regular season game… There is no way they could have lost all their games in the first week of the season. The same goes for last year in which they were 2-14.

Well, like I said, I’m not even closely interested in football (that is what I ment). Also, I was exaggerating, but what I ment was that they lost almost all games they played (only the Tigers can beat the Lions’ record…ha).

No sarcasm in this post.

The Colts defense looked rather good today with 2 interceptions of former Colts Quartback Kelly Holcumb (Jim Harbaugh’s backup in the day…) The offsense moved but never scored, but thanks to Mike Vanderjagt (hands down the best kicker in the league) he nailed 3 field goals including a 45 yarder to beat the Browns. Yay, once the colts can find the endzone, they could go all the way. Bringing defensive mastermind Tony Dungee to Indianapolis was good move

Dolphins looked anemic today…

Maybe we’ll start slow and finish strong this year as opposed to the other way around.

I’m not sure about best kicker in the league because what about Vinaterie or Thomas Hall??? Both really great kickers…

I don’t know. RSS (Red Sox Syndrome) is very difficult to get rid of. We should know. We’ve been living with it since 1918.

Well I didn’t get to watch my Vikings play this weekend because I was out of town but I was absolutely giddy when I heard they won. Watching sports center last night it appeared as though they played well with Moss and Caulpepper connecting in their old ways and their defense looking like it improved tremendously. Wow, an opening win at Lambeau Field against their long time rivals, I couldn’t ask for much more.

Hoping for a good season…especially since so much of my fantasy football team relies on the Vikings. Thanks Dante for racking up the points in the first week!

Thomas Hall?

Do you mean John Hall?

If you look at career statistics, Vanderjagt is the most accurate kicker in the league and possibly history. Since 1998 he has a 90% FG Percentage, compared to Vinatieri’s 80% and John Hall’s 70%. When it comes down to it Vanderjagt has missed quite a few less, but he is the youngest of the three. You won’t find much better then that.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Your right about the name hahaha I’m thinking of the wrong sport… But yes he is good… But for clutch kicks I have to go with my man Adam… What was it I think like a 46 yarder against the Raiders, against the wind, against the snow UNBELIEVABLE(and I have a signed pick off that kick and I got to meet him)… Also you cannot forget the game winning Superbowl kick which may I remind you he kicks 100% while in a dome life-time…

I’m not a big fan of football, but the 49ers crushed the Bears 49-7 … All I could think of was my Physics teacher, who is from Chicago. He tried to act optimistic about it.
