Are you bored? Have you spent far too many hours on the FRC simulator reliving weeks 1 and 2 Well guess what…

Let me introduce you to SECOND Robotics Competition, where SECOND stands for:
Simulator Excitement Coronavirus Oof New Decade

We will be hosting our inaugural virtual tournament this weekend, March 21/22th (times TBD)! Currently aiming for 24 ‘teams’ signed up (complete with ‘team numbers’, ‘team names’ and ‘team sponsors’ of your choosing), hoping to run one each day depending on interest. It’ll be streamed and commentated by yours truly, with a few rounds of qualification matches, an actual match schedule, and then alliance selection & elims.

If you don’t sign up in the first 24 overall, there’s a chance that:

a) Interest is so high that we have enough for an extra round in the bracket
b) You can be added to the waitlist if someone fails to check in prior to tournament start
c) You may be able to compete one day (but not the other)
d) Some other situation I haven’t come up with yet

Update: the initial 24 slots are full for both days but interest continues to build so I think it’s best that we keep accepting new registrants, based on numbers can either swap to 32 teams (4 team alliances in elims), 48 (do a bracket of 16ths). If you have any thoughts I’d love to hear them!

Details will be finalized soon! We’re running a mini-tournament to do a systems check tonight and make sure all is working. It’ll be streamed :slight_smile:

Tonight was great! Definitely some bumps along the way but that’s why it was a test :slight_smile: Thanks to everyone who participated to help work out the bugs.

Congrats to our winning 4th alliance for today’s mini showdown (Bobert/Brennan/Nicholas/Richard), as well as our finalists of the 2nd alliance (Archer/Matt/Jeff/Riley).
