Securing NEO Encoder Cable to Spark MAX

Is there a good way to secure NEO Encoder cables into the Spark Max? Our NEO/encoder cable works fine when it is plugged in, but has come loose several times during testing. Any suggestions? Zipties/Electrical tape aren’t too much help in our specific situation.

I would ensure there’s proper strain relief on the cable. My team hasn’t had any issues with encoder cables coming lose

I’ve got to agree with @risho900 - if there is no tension on the cable and it’s reasonably strain relieved, the friction on a 6 pin JST connector should be plenty to keep it in place. My teams have never had a problem there.

Do you have any pics of your situation? Are you sure there’s no tension on it at any point of you’re mechanism travel?

Maybe you have a damaged end. You can get replacements on Amazon (in kits) and if the wire itself isn’t damaged you can transfer the wires to a new housing pretty easily.

There is some tension, ideally our wire would be slightly longer. I assume extension cables exist? If so, could someone direct me to the best/fastest source to get them from?

REV sells extension cables + joiner boards:

You can find plenty of JST PH 6-pin stuff on Amazon as well. Just be aware most JST PH Cables are female connectors at both ends, like the one that REV offers, so you’ll need to get some kind of adapter/joiner board or find some with male connectors on one end.
