Seeking Game Announcer (and other) talent in Southern California!

Hey, all!

The Orange County Regional (Sat/Sun, week two) is seeking 1-2 Game Announcers to join a dynamic volunteer crew in Costa Mesa, California, USA for the 2023 event! We are interested in both experienced GAs as well as those looking to break into the position.

OCR is a relatively young event and we’re working on continuing to build up a local volunteer force. We’d love to find people from Southern California who are invested in the long term success of the region, but we’re also always open to folks who want to travel.

We’re also actively recruiting for other volunteer positions! We’re mainly looking for:

  • Robot Inspectors (Fri only or Fri-Sun)
  • Judges (Sat-Sun)
  • Field Reset (Fri optional, Sat-Sun required)
  • Team Queuer (Fri optional, Sat-Sun required)
  • Field Assembly (Thu; can be combined with another role)
  • Control System Advisor

We still have room for one additional game announcer in sunny Southern California this season during week two!

Also looking for:

  • One more official scorer (Fri-Sun)
  • One to two additional robot inspectors (Friday only or Fri-Sun)
  • One or two additional field reset (Friday only)
  • Lots of hands for field assembly (Thursday only)
  • Machine shop staff (Fri-Sun)

We’d love to have folks new to these roles or well versed. Our volunteer crew is shaping up to be a healthy mix of returners and newcomers and we’re excited for the upcoming season!
