We are writing a WFA essay for one of our mentors and she is a senior mentor and gets paid. are we allowed to mention that, even if she would do it for free.

I see no limitations on what content you might choose to include, though I would suggest particularly careful attention of the “Judging Criteria” and “Entry Requirements” sections.
