I can spline-patch well enough, but I can’t do anything with NURBS . For a project like this where we’ll make robots, a field with its components, a few characters and scenery, is it worth getting some books and spending the next week learning a bit about the technique?
Patch models of characters work fine, I suppose, so how are NURBS?
well, the only time i find NURBS to be useful is if i am actually drawing out something that actually came from something real (ie: yourself). they help because they give you more control when you are drawing to give the exact look. Thats the only time i have found them useful. Dont go getting nme wrong or anything. you might like using them. i must say that they do take a bit more time. Up to you though.
They’re good for making things that come from real objects…
I think I’ll take a look at them, then. We might want to make some team members for the animation, though I probably won’t reach that level in time. Knowing a bit about them might come in handy.
