Show Us Your Home COMPUTER SETUP!

I’ve been enjoying reading through this thread and tried to find something similar for us programmers. I was surprised to find one didn’t exist. And while very few students can say that they have their own shop (being high schoolers and all), I’m sure many more are able to say that they have their own computer setups.

So, all the computer nerds, here is your chance to show off your fancy LEDs, mechanical keyboards, 4K monitors, and threadrippers.

What are your specs? What do you primary use your computer for? What games do you play or what software do you use? Post some pictures!

It’s certainly not fancy, but it gets through everything I need it to. Generally a mix of CSGO, Overwatch, and Valorant and lately a mix of the free games from Epic. Solidworks runs well too. As far as specs:

i5-7500
8GB DDR4-2400
GTX 1050ti
$10 keyboard from Walmart I got after building it realizing in order to spam “delete” you need a delete key
1366x768 24" Samsung TV (At the time I thought $100 for a monitor this big was a steal, didn’t care about the refresh rate(59 Hz) or resolution, and didn’t really realize that a TV is not just a budget monitor)

Unfortunately the only LEDs are the white ones on the mobo, which you can’t see

I’m too embarrassed to post a photo. It’s a mess.

This is me as well. Too many projects…

Who needs a case anyway?

Working on adding a bunch of panel mounted stuff (outlets, USB charging, HDMI for the monitors, SD card reader, etc) and some slim drawers.

If we’re doing specs…
i9-9900k
Quadro RTX 4000 “the World’s First Ray Tracing GPU”
64gb of RAM
2x 1tb SSDs in RAID 1
2x 1tb HDDs in RAID 0 (the faster write speeds actually make sense for my use case)
1200W PSU (cause it was free and I trust this specific model)
360mm CoolerMaster silver AIO I won at Beach Blitz for a trivia contest.

This is my desktop setup. Not pictured is my laptop, just out of frame to the right.

Specs:
i7-4790K
16 GB DDR3-1866
GTX 1050 Ti (soon to be upgraded to RX 580)
256GB 850 Pro SSD
2TB WD Green HDD
IBM Model M
Asus VX248 primary monitor, IBM T750 secondary

Plenty of LEDs as you can see

I am sorry, I tried, but I cannot resist.

No, but seriously, it is an HP laptop, not much to see.

What are you using for your monitor mount? I’ve been wanting to do a 3+1 setup and I’d love to know if you like the one you’re using.

It’s a VIVO quad monitor mount. I’ve had it for a year now. It’s been alright. At times one monitor is lower than the other, so I’ve had to make some spacers to help raise it to the right height. So if you don’t mind dealing with that, then it’s great!

Dell Inspirion 5575.
Ryzen 7 2700U (Actually a bit more powerful than quite a lot of i5s lmao)
Vega 10 graphics (Integrated but still runs 1.12.2 Minecraft at 70+ fps easy)
512 gb SSD
15.6" screen
Runs solidworks really well and it’s really small and light. Love the thing

I didn’t know CD has a dark theme, but after seeing this post, I went to Preferences. The first theme I changed it to was #AllBlackEverything . This is actually hilarious.

Edit: if you try it, to go back, you might have to select some text
