can we hang banners in the stadiums? we did last year but there seems to be a rule," only in pit station". one less tool to sell to sponsors.
The rule isn’t new. In the past some venues would allow it. We’ll have to see if it will be strictly enforced.
At GLR last year, there were very specific rules to not use tape on walls, anywhere. It still happened. I don’t know how many signs I had to remove.
Let’s obey the restrictions the venues give us, or we might not be invited back.
Gary, I don’t think that this is an issue with individual venues. From the tone of the Q&A on this subject, it sounds like FIRST wants the only banners in the field side of the arena to be the ones they post for their sponsors. It seems that the line of thinking is that by allowing teams to post banners, it somewhat cheapens the space that they have granted to sponsors, which is bad business for FIRST. In any case, just because a venue tells you that it’s okay to post banners doesn’t mean that it’s okay with FIRST, and doesn’t mean that you should do it.

All the time at GLR we got to hang banners and things to that nature, we used string though. Each venue is different, becasue in CHicago 2 years ago there had to have been the most strict rules ever enforced (No dancing, no baloons, no noisemakers). We still did it, but thats besides the point. YOu might want to make sure you dont take anything that you will need to “destroy” their propery.
