Silly question....

At the end of the game, and your robot is hanging off of the pole for bonus points, can you manually take it down after the game has ended, or does it need to come down on it’s own?

You have to remove it manuly with out tuning the power back on.

And because that’s a relatively tough rule to find…

Also see:

Translation: be able to get at whatever is holding the robot up to remove it.

I think what the question meant was if the robot is hanging, can we physically lift them, or should they have some sort of auto release down to the ground on their own without power?

Whether that was or was not the question, it has been answered. You must be able to remove your robot manually with no power except human power.

How you do it is up to you. I know that in 2004, my team got down by manually activating a pneumatic solenoid to release our winch latch enough to lower the robot, then pick it up, pull it away from the bar, and lower the lift manually. Some teams had to wait for the field crew to lower the bar to get down… Not an option this year.

Ahahah! I’m sorry. But as unprofessional as that was. I am laughing my head off over here! I loved it!

Nothing meant by it, it’s all just in having some fun with smileys. Thanks for the info seriously Eric.

RoboticsMaster2- I bet you’re not even from Alaska!

From the robot rules Section 8

<R20> Field power to the ROBOTS will not be re-enabled after a MATCH. ROBOTS must be designed to permit removal of GAME PIECES from the ROBOT, and removal of the ROBOT from TOWERS and/or other ROBOTS without requiring activation of the ROBOT power system.
