I’m interested in building a mock-up of the speaker’s goal slot but less excited about the material, space and effort to build the full team version. Has anyone built a good version that just attaches to a wall with a simple 4x4 barrier on the floor for the subwoofer? Any pictures to share?
I don’t have pictures, but I’d take a look at something like the cranberry alarm mock field set up, it’s very simple and looks easy enough to make.
I hope this helps!
there’s a lot of official field documentation on the official FIRST playing field page here, I suggest you try checking it out. There are also blueprints for various different field elements built out of wood, although the speaker is a bit more complicated than necessary (the back portion isn’t really needed)
Sure, I’ve build all the other models I was just looking to avoid another large thing in our smallish space taking advantage of the wall.
I’ll look at the Cranberry Alarm solution.
Our go at it (tall student for scale)…
Seen simpler, but wanted a whole hood to check for bounce out.
That looks great, especially if I secure it to the wall. Thanks so much!
Have folks found the notes bouncing out of the hood to be a serious factor or is the Cranberry Alarm hoop method fine for most cases?
