Skill Building Activities for New Team Members

I have a few skill building activities I use with new team members that are excellent. One is the Arduino Starter Kit. It comes with a manual and teams of two can work through most of the activities independently. I also have a series of tutorials for Fusion 360 that allow students to work through at their own pace.

I am looking for more activities such as these that will allow new members to build skills in a varity of areas such as electronics, pneumatics, tank drive, programming, gearing, etc.

I wonder if anyone has anything they might share along this line.

I have tried looking for some good introductory pneumatics kits and gearing kits, but did not find things that I thought were as well thought out and put together as the Arduino Starter Kit. I may design a few of my own activities this summer, but I already have my plate full with quite a lot and don’t see a need to reinvent the wheel if other members of this community have already addressed this issue.

since we have a offseason competiton in the same building as our robotics lab, we usually use a offseason as a way to teach new members and give them the first experience, being a first year student last year it helped me learn the energy and vibe of first and learn the innerworkings of the robot and other things that that would help (quick electrical action, and troubleshooting things.)
