SmartDashboard C++ issue

Hi all,
Team 1257 has an issue with the c++ smart dashboard. Whenever we connect to the robot, we can’t get an image from the camera to appear on the dashboard until we switch to the default dashboard and change the camera mode. We tried the community plugin from last year but that didn’t solve the issue. Any ideas for how we can not have to do this (since it is not feasible to try during a match)?
