The SmartDashboard will not open automatically and I have tried many different things to fix this issue. Here is all the information i have on the system and all of the file paths used:
O.S: Windows 7 Professional
File path to the .jar file: DashboardCmdLine = ““C:\Users\Team2996\wpilib\ ools\SmartDashboard.jar””

Does it open when you choose the C++ or Java dashboard options?
Joe Ross - I am not the original poster but I have the same problem, and for me, it does not.

One of our computers has the same issue. If someone finds a fix, It would get rid of the minor inconvenience of opening it manually.
For our team, we had to install eclipse on our “driving only” computer with all of the C++ WPI additions (basic C++ setup, as if we were going to use the computer for programming, but we didn’t write a program in it). This should not have been necessary but it’s what worked for us.
