OK lets get this started - can’t believe there’s not a thread going already.
Who’s coming, where are y’all staying, what are y’all doing (y’all is acceptable grammar in the south)?

Y’all got that right. (Actually y’all is only for talking to multiple people.)
Krunch is excited to be attending. It looks to be a great event with 48, 71 and 801 being part of the 49 team rookie event.
Team 1747, Harrison Boiler Robotics (HBR) will be making the trip down from West Lafayette, Indiana. This will be our first regional outside of the Midwest (although not very far). Can’t wait to compete against a different region and make new friends with other teams. We will definitely be bringing our Indiana friends though, with 71, 234, 829, 1024, 1766, and 1741 also attending.
Yes Hoosiers are excited to be invading The Smoky Mountain regional. Will Tennessee ever be the same?
The Digital Goats will be staying at Hampton Inn & Suites Knoxville North I75.
Team 1261 is coming up to Knoxville. Closest 2nd regional we could find. And I must say, we’ve never been in the company of such world class teams at a regional…should be fun.
Team 3000 from Jeffersontown High School in Louisville, KY will be at SMR. Looks like it will be a good time. This is our 3rd year and 3rd different regional, having attended St. Louis back in '09 and BMR last year.
Gary
I know you are orginally from south Florida (that not the true South) and only a resent transplant to Alabama. So to add to what rtfgnow wrote.
Y’all is for a small group.
“All Y’all” is for a large group.
I hope to stop by for your open house on Saturday.
Go GATORS
Jim
I never said Anglish was my best subject. I hope all y’all will forgive my ignurnce.
You guys get to deal with Ed Sparks as your Lead Robot Inspector and me as his right hand man.
Go ahead, try to slip a Globe motor by us!
Andy B.
sure globes but illegal pneumatics parts…
Let me know if you guys need more help.
1249, 337 and our rookie team 3514 from West Virginia and 3821 our rookie team from Kentucky will make the trip, and I passed Andy in NC regional inspection last year, so if i build it according to the manual, then i can practice with an approved robot and not still be in line late Thursday evening.
Looking forward to meeting new people and seeing some old friends
No globe motors? Did they change the rules? I guess I should go ahead and read the manual. Next thing I know you’ll be telling me that tape is legal.
Tape, legal? Right after they double how much we can spend on an individual item.
Bacon is going to Palmetto, but I got permission to play hookie and go to Smokey Mountain instead. Not sure what volunteer role I’ll be assigned, but I’m sure I’ll be busy! Can’t wait! :]
Everybody better bring their “A” game if Andy is in the house …
My team, 2783, was going to go, but a prospective sponsor who looked promising backed away and we had to settle for Boilermaker only and world.
I will have to watch the webcasts of this…
Is anybody aware of plans for the Smoky Mountain Regional to be webcast?
The NASA list of FRC Webcasts (http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/2011_frcwebcasts.php) doesn’t yet go out to week 5…
The webcast lists aren’t finalized until Thursday/Friday of that week! :o
We haven’t been inspected by Andy, but Ed is a very fair and knowledgeable head inspector. We missed you at Peachtree. (Not a knock on this year’s Peachtree inspectors, they did a great job).
It was sad for me to miss Peachtree. I’ve been the LRI there since the beginning … but LIFE got in the way this year. I knew you would be just fine because the crew at Peachtree are well oiled and don’t need much from me.
See 'ya soon at SMR … looking forward to it!
