SNEAC (Southern New England Advocacy Conference) 2020

We are hosting the third annual Southern New England Advocacy Conference on February 9th and 11th at WPI. All FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge teams from Connecticut , Massachusetts , and Rhode Island are invited to participate in this two-day event where you will learn about how your government operates, develop the skills necessary to advocate for important issues, and travel to your state capital to discuss these issues with your representatives.

On the first day, teams will gather together to listen to key speakers and work in groups to practice advocating. On day two, teams will travel to their state capital to put their new skills into action, speaking with their representatives about the importance of STEM.

In 2019 we were able to get an amendment added to MA the budget. It did not pass but we are moving in the right direction and need as many teams support as we can get.

Even if you already have a relationship with your representatives this will be a great opportunity to train team members what messages we should be giving them. With advocacy, the power is in numbers. The more people we can engage, the more effective we can be.

Visit for more information on the conference and registration.

P.S. If other states are interested in participating let me know. We have the space but we need help from you.

6328 is excited to attend the event this year! Thanks 1735 for organizing

The registration deadline for this event is coming up soon. Please sign up if you plan on going. If you don’t know how many people from your team can go please register for one person so we can get started on the next part and you can register the correct number of people later.
