So far our team has built 2 goals, a frame, a drivetrain that works, a prototype top secret goal device that works yay!
Well thats about all I can tell you! Maybe we will get some pics and maybe not!
Not to brag or anything just wondering how much all of you have accomplished!
I just hope all those Rookie teams get there robots done!!
To bad we donāt even have a storyline yet:rolleyes: and I just wish I knew how to use 3d studio max! The most I can do on that program is animate a ball and create one lol!
Weāre WAY ahead of schedule⦠weāve already broken a few parts and realized our design is mediocre⦠and on a personal best⦠Iāve declared us doomed all in the FIRST week!!! Itās gonna be our best season yet!!!
Best Wishes
Steve Alaniz

We finally got our design! we also just got finished building a goal. we getting our materials in order tomorrow and soon well start on the frame⦠man i cant waitā¦
We got our frame cut and welded. We are using 1" square aluminum tubing. Itās light-weight and strong.
Everything that will be attached to it is drawn and ready to build when the material arrives.
I pity the robot that tries to cart us or drag us off
robust drive trains done
prototyped chassis done
1/2 of one gaol for demo purposes
small scale mockup of field done
1/4 done with animation
all final chassis part schematics sent to machine shop done
is any one besides me feel that they are way ahead of the curve because of the differences betweenthis year and last year-
I am deathly afraid that I am missingforgetting something this year
goal built
brainstorming done (that was the big one!)
working on sponsorship so we can attend nats
drive system almost there
other mechanisms, protyped, and final being cut
this is absolutely THE slowest rathe we have gone in all of our years, but weāre fine.
2 goals built
prototyping on various ideas completed (canāt give away all our secrets!)
CAD drawings completed
Frame ready to be welded
And yes, we feel like we are way ahead from where we were last year at this time. Then again, this game just simply has much less in it to do. Maybe this year I might actually get a few days of dedicated driving practice. Could be useful!
~Tom Fairchild~, whoās happy with where his team is right now.
You are not that far behind. Last year (rookie year) we didnāt have a frame for almost two weeks. But we persevered and built one very good robot.
We took two Rookie All-Star awards and we came in second place at Western Michigan.
So donāt dispair. Just do the best you can.
So far we have been gathering ideas for our animation (all new animation kids this year), have a general idea of our robot design and should have specifics soon (have done a few CAD sketches), have 2 goals built and hopefully a 3rd buy the time our robot is being built, built a few prototypes of individual systems, and have performed a number of simulations. We are already a week behind and need to catch up. It will all work out in the end, hopefully.
