So What do you have left to do?

So what does everybody have left to do now that every robot has been shipped?

Well I’ll be busting my butt in between competitions to build our teams HOF display for Atlanta and other periphials (like the robot trading card I just uploaded to CD).

Wait what? we were suppose to ship the robot? :ahh:

… on a more serious note, we need to work on our organization of the team and make sure we have got everything that we want for the regional.

I would think nothing to do with robots for the next few days…
Maybe something some of you have forgot… sleep
At least take a few days off, refresh your mind and body before hitting the trenches again. Great job folks!

I sleep. This is my one hour awake a day that I have until the Portland regional.

But seriously, We kindof finished everything on the bot… we just have to bring some stickers with us to make the robot all sponsor-ified.

Oh and record and edit video footage from regionals for scouting purposes.

#1 Use the build windows to make some spare parts.
#2 Screen print shirts and whatever else we can fit in the press.
#3 Make some banners for the pit
#4 Work on scouting system
#5 Work on safety plan
#6 buttons
#7 buttons
#8 buttons
#9 buttons
#10 get some rest (like I can sleep)

Tweak autonomous during the fix-it window we’re using tomorrow evening.

Sleep…
and get the massive amounts of coffee and energy drinks out of my system

also re-wire the electronics board

Thought of another one: Break my body’s addiction to caffein. It’s to the point where it takes either 3 monsters or about 6 cups of coffee to give me a buzz, and if I don’t have any caffeine I get a headache… So it’s time to break the habit. This is gonna suck.

We still have alot to get done:

Inventor needs to be filled in
Chairmens needs to be finalized
Cart needs to be built
Trailer needs to be modified
Pit layout finalized
Plasma Monitors setup
Pamphlets created
Website updates
Science Fair visit
FLL Tours given
Products labeled

And much more…Should be an interesting two weeks.

Before Philly Regional:

Order some parts to fix a broken shaft, as well as stock parts to bring with us
Design and build a pit display
Order team jerseys
Strategy/Drivers meetings
Mess around more with programming
Make travel plans for nationals
Order signage/decals for robot with sponsors

And at the Philly Regional:

Replace broken driveshaft powering our arm
Tweak Autonomous mode
Replace KOP wheels with IFI traction’s and Omni’s
Attach more signage/decals/sponsor stuff

Not that much to do compared to last year. We just hit a snag yesterday practicing before the FedEx truck and broke a shaft, better now than in the semi-finals I guess. Just a quick swap out of parts, and we’ll be good. Should be in at 8:30, swapped and inspected by 9:30, and ready to attend all practice matches from that point.

During a Fix-It Window, I plan to finish the basic autonomous mode so that we just have to set a couple of variables at VCU, as well as polish the arm control routines and joystick smoothing/exponential lookup table set-ups for the teleoperated period.

Try white, or another rather weak tea. I find that it works wonders for banishing withdrawal headaches. I understand some pain relievers like Tylenol work pretty well for dealing with the headaches too, but I have had little luck with them.

Heh, I think Manuallabor forgot one slight thing we need to finish. Our autonomous mode. We have a solid 2 CMU camera code and working gear tooth sensors, but we have yet to test the code that links them together. Our programmers will look over the code before PNW, but honestly Thursday is going to be a scramble to get everything working (as usual :p)

Actually, I just realized we forgot to mount a PVC pipe for the flag. Whoops

Write an autonomous command parsing state machine and clean up the wiring when we get to Boston.

-Make two extra worm drives for spares
-Make a spare sucker
-Get the practice bot working
-Practice:ahh:

We are also going for gold this rear with our inventor submission. We already have the full CAD done, we just need to add chains, wires, and fasteners.

UPDATE THE WEBSITE! its getting badly behind :o

All we have to do is put the bumpers on, get inspected, and attend our practice matches.

We need to get inspected - then go have breakfast!

We still have to do minor stuff like new bumpers.

We need to put something on our ramps for increased traction
and attatch the ramps, and put another hinge on the top of them,
or find some onther way to decrease their height [about an inch over 5’]
and if that wont work… we’ll figure out some way of raising our wheel clearance…
good stuff, i forsee a busy day in the pits on thursday

we need sponsor stickers too…
