I need to collect information on surface mount soldering for one of my classes. I created a survey and I would appreciate if you could take a few minutes to fill it out. Thanks.
Done.
Done,
One question you forgot to ask, “How big is your magnifying glass”
Completed:
I built my own assembly pick and place systems complete with video targeting for component placement.
The axis are linear stages from Intelligent Actuator.
I used vacuum placement.
I have ‘reflow’ ovens made from toaster ovens I retrofitted with digital temperature controls.
I used to wash my boards down in an old dishwasher (and no I did not drain the waste into the sewer or septic).
I had an ultrasonic golf club cleaner somewhere that was handy for some projects as well :yikes:
It’s only crazy if it doesn’t work.
I have 2 LPKF Protomat 92S with the surface mount paste systems to make PCB as well.
Not to mention the electroplating systems and liquid etching systems (ferric chloride and sodium persulfate).
I try to keep the really nasty chemicals to a minimum.
This is seconded, as I use a magnifier whenever I do Surface Mount!
Oh, and I filled out the survey too!
Done.
What are you attempting to determine from this survey?
Done
It may have been best if your survey had included a question that asked if the participant is a student, an adult mentor, an adult mentor who works in electronics (PCB) manufacturing. Otherwise, you will get highly divergent responses that may be difficult to explain. What is easy for me now would not have been easy for me 40 years ago.
If you really do have someone who can assemble boards in a day, get in touch with me.
