I’ve just got Solidworks, and when I am in the assembly mode, there are some odd things happening.
The first oddity is when I have the corner extrusions and the C channel extrusions in the same assembly. When happens is when I move my mouse to the C channel, the corner extrusions disperser, and when I move my mouse away, they reappear.
The other is when I have my mouse over a face in the same assembly above, the dynamic highlight is not working.
They where working the day before, but now the assembly mode is messed up.
Right now, I have the 2010-2011 academic version, running in Windows 7 professional.
Is this just a problem with my computer, or do I have to re-install Solidworks?
Thanks
what are the specs of your computer?
My computer has 4GB of ram, and has a AMD athlon dual core processor 5200,
with 2.71GHz
My friend told me to look for if I am in large assembly mode.
Would that solve the problem?
how many parts are in your assembly?
and what do you have for graphics?
I have two parts in my assembly, and I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
When I turn the dynamic highlighting mode off, the assembly is fine, but I would like to use the dynamic highlighting.
Reinstall of software will not help.
hmmm thats odd. does it do it in other assemblies?
That’s a graphics card driver issue; not all consumer graphics cards (and their drivers) play nice with SolidWorks, and some lead to weird glitching issues like you describe. I previously had issues like this.
It took a lot of trials, but on my computer I had to experiment with different versions of the NVIDIA drivers and switching between 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 until I had a stable combination.
Thanks for all the help.
@artdutra04
What card/driver do you have right now? And what driver would you recommended for the GeForce 9400 GT?
(and nice robot you have this year)
