Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Solidworks Student Edition for a 64bit operating system?
If you know any past members that are in college, the college might have a license that you can check out for the semester…thats how i got my copy

Thank you Cory!
does the 64x edition run a lot better? I’ve got a copy of 32x, but i’m running a 64x OS and it’s very laggy at times.

Afaik, the Student Edition doesn’t have an x64 version.
The 2009/2010 SolidWorks Student Edition will contain a 64-bit as well as a 32-bit DVD. It will be available in June.
I installed the 32 bit version on my 64 bit copy of home premium and haven’t had any trouble.
It runs really laggy for me. I reformatted (for the heck of it really, not because of this) and it was still laggy.
My drivers are up to date.
I have noticed that it takes a really long time to zoom in and out with the scroll wheel (i’ve got a logitech G5), but if I hold shift and move the mouse it is fairly smooth.
AMD 6400+ (3.2)

I have installed the 32bit on my 64 bit computer. It doesn’t run too much slower.
One of the kids on 971 noticed this a last year on his nice gaming rig too. He could rotate nicely, and zoom with the zoom tool, but the scroll wheel didn’t work well. I don’t think he found a solution though.
