Looking at the blog posted yesterday, I believe the game hints are referring to baseball or at least baseball combined with another sport. It seems fairly evident that over the past few years FIRST has used sports themes in the games. They have even made a habit of combining sports in the games. For example Ultimate Frisbee and Ascent Rock Climbing.
Here are the hints in the blog that lead me to believe something about baseball:
We’re in full swing = swinging a baseball bat
get your Kickoff Kit home safely = home refers to home plate
getting home safely = an obvious pun for a play made at the plate where the player is “safe”
Vespa at home = again a reference to home plate. However, the Vespa comment must have something to do with another game/activity combined with baseball.
From the KOP page:
D) One set of items, collectively 3 in. x 3 in. x 60 in., 6 lbs. = A pitcher needs to throw 3 strikes to get an out. There are 3 outs in an inning. And the pitching rubber is exactly 60ft. - 6in. from home plate. (This may be a stretch for this clue but it made sense to me).
Leaving the Vespa at home could be a reference to a home team. The home team could be in posession of some item that the hint is using Vespa for. A Vespa is some sort of Moped or motorbike. Not sure how to link that.
All the inches in the KOP add up to 340. This might be a stretch as well because depending on how you measure the distance between 1st base and 3rd base is 340 inches.
Please keep all content related to the blog post in the original thread made for the post. If a mod could conjoin these two threads, that would be great.
Why would you leave your Vespa at home? A Vespa is a moped. Mopeds don’t particularly have good traction. When I was like 15, I had a moped. I fell on it because the ground was wet.
