Some clarification

How was the “dave says that’s pimp” hype started. I saw a few pics of it being displayed at the VCU Regional. :yikes: , but who invented it, and when did Dave get embarrased by it?

Another thing. I am a pretty good rapper, so can I do a rap (in full pimp suit) titled “Dave Says That’s Pimp” at the next regional we go to?

i belive it is a joke from team 116, they made buttons with dave photoshoped in a pimp suit and were handing them out this season. I would PM wetzel for more info.

Yeah, I would ask Wetzel or Heidi for all of the details. Otherwise, I think Greg pretty much said it all.

I have to take the blame for that one. But only because someone (and I still don’t know who it was) took the Dr. Evil and Mini Me picture I did of Dave and made buttons of it. Well, Dave’s own offspring said we had to make a button of our own. In 2002 our team gave out “Lavery Seal of Approval” buttons at Nationals (I had nothing to do with that) and I suggested we should do an updated version of that button. I told Lil’ Richie and Lil’ Lavery that if they could borrow a button machine, I would pay for the supplies to make buttons. They upheld their end of the bargain so… we started looking at photos (we even considered leaning toward a cartoon drawing one of our teammates had done). Our first choice was one of the SuperDave photos with “Super Job” on it. Then I pointed to the pimp picture and said, “How about that one, we can put Dave says ‘That’s Pimp’ on it.” When they finished laughing, they agreed that was the one we would go with. So the three of us made about 500 buttons. Dave was first embarrassed by it at the Richmond Regional when we sent one of the staffers with a button over to him. I wish I had gotten a picture of his face when he first saw it… Of course, getting the photo put on the big screen at Annapolis was even more fun…

Well, team 116 is planning on being at the Richmond Regional and Nationals, so if you’re at either, we would love to see a rap! As a matter of fact, a rap would more than likely win you a 2005 Dave says “That’s Pimp!” button…
