We completed our first week of preseason training sessions on Saturday by asking the team the following questions:
"Thinking about this week of robotics … “What did you like the best? Why is that important to you?”
Here are some of my favorite responses:
“The eagerness of team members to get involved and help the rookies. I’m a rookie!”
From a veteran, “I lilked being able to teach the rookies what they need to know about controls. It is important to me because my knowledge needs to be passed on to the rookies.”
“I liked meeting new people and learning about the robots. I want to meet new people so I hopefully can make new friends.”
“I liked hanging out with my friends that I don’t see much + learning about the old version of Photoshop. It’s FUN!”
From one of our college student mentors, “The interaction of the students with the mentors. This is a basic training idea lost from the past. I was assigned a mentor on my first job. This was critical in my training for my life.”
