Sound effects on the Driver Station

Has anyone ever added they’re own sound effects to their driver station? (And gotten yelled at for it)

Im asking because we plan on coordinating sound effects from a game that our controls team likes called Tribes: Ascend (Which involves shooting discs as the most popular weapon) with things our robot does and what happens in the match.

So, anyone going to Hatboro-Horsham or Bridgewater District in MAR, If you hear something alone the lines of “The Sworders ____” during a match, its 2607… :stuck_out_tongue:

Look at your own signature!!

I wouldn’t recommend it as the sounds, while highly amusing, could be annoying to the drive team and prevent effective communications.

Yeah, of course we’d let people know and could disable it, I was asking if the event staff would have us get rid of it.

It couldnt be that loud either, only coming from laptop speakers (Or other things that dont take external power)

As per communication, at least it would let our alliance know if we were having problems. As opposed to “Our climber broke into 23 pieces” you’d just hear “Shazbot!”. :stuck_out_tongue:

As far as volume, I doubt it would be a problem, but I’d check anyway.

As far as effectiveness, in all the confusion and chaos of a match, it would be quite easy for your drivers to not hear a noise made by your laptop, and especially so for your alliance partners – and as a driver, I can tell you that hearing a partner’s laptop say “Shazbot!” would mean absolutely nothing to me.

Best of luck!

Yeah… Its just a joke.
