We recently updated the firmware on all of our SparkMax motor controllers (version 1.5.2). After we updated them, the won’t respond when we try to drive and move the robot, and just have a blinking blue light no matter what. Can someone help us?
Is it a dark blue or light (cyan) blue?
Corrupt firmware wouldn’t show an LED status light. (As per rev’s status light page)
Dark Blue.
Are you using neos?
I think one neo, and the rest are cims
Ok. First off, you might’ve fried the neo as you had it in “brushed mode” instead of brushless mode. I’d check that out.
Secondly, check your can wiring as it looks like your maxes aren’t wired properly.
I also know this firmware works, I updated our sparks and used it yesterday on our Neo 550s.
Have you run through the troubleshooting tips provided here (link)?
They are now flashing orange and magenta, which means sensor fault. How can we fix this?
We updated 1.5.2 yesterday, and nothing worked. We then had to go into recovery mode as the firmware was corrupt and go back to the last firmware version. We are not sure why yet.
Did they work after that?
Yes, they started working.
How do you go into recovery mode?
There is a small red button on the top that you can press that puts it into recovery mode.
