Maybe i just missed it while reading the rules but,
if you can throw a ringer directly onto the rack , can you throw a spoiler directly onto the rack?(as a HP)

I have not seen any rule against it, but do you want to take the risk of your spoiler being taken by the other alliance
well, just saying, our HP is rather accurate with the ringers as of now, and if our robot was near the rack anyways it could just pick it up right after and get the job done
<G48> Entering GAME PIECES onto the field - Only the HUMAN PLAYERS may enter a RINGER or SPOILER onto the field, either by attempting to throw it to a ROBOT or onto the RACK, passing it through the CHUTE to a ROBOT, or passing it through the CHUTE for pickup by a ROBOT. If GAME PIECES are thrown, they must be thrown over the top of the Alliance Station Wall, and may not be thrown around the side of the Alliance Station Wall. Violations of this rule will result in a 10-point penalty per GAME PIECE entered onto the field.
Spoilers can be entered on the field in the same manner as ringers.
Just curious but it your rack the right distance away and do you have the black tubing on the feet? when I was in manchester it seemed that the robot would have to exert a little bit of force on the tube to push it over the black tubing, probably more force than the tube would have after you threw it 19ft. If he/she can do it then that is awesome. Just make sure you have all the variables accounted for.
I think rather than throwing it ONTO the rack, your best strategy would be to have your robot pick it up off the floor and score it appropriately. This way, you don’t run the risk of spoiling your own rows. AND, you save time by getting the spoiler closer to your robot (so it doesn’t have to return to the HP station to get the ringer/spoiler)
or if you throw it late into the match when theres no time left after you relize u didnt use your spoiler
I don’t like the idea of throwing spoilers onto the field, as that leaves the other team a chance to pick them up before you. I would drop them from the human player chute for the robots to grab in orde to make sure that my team ends up with it.
