Spotlighting multiple chains

I read over the rules and I don’t see any rules in regards to the number of chains you can spotlight. Logically, it makes sense for it to not be allowed, but I’d like some outside input.

Each alliance is given three High Notes; there are three Microphones on each Stage; I’d say the maximum number of Spotlights is three.

Unless you can cajole the opposition to share their High Notes.

Do you mean a robot hanging from two chains, or scoring high notes on multiple microphones

Whenever there is no rule saying that you cant do something, that means that you can do it. What makes you think that spotlighting multiple chains isn’t allowed?

That makes a lot of sense. My perspective was “spotlight typically means to emphasize one over the other” but the whole “if it doesn’t say it in the rules, it’s fair game” makes more sense lol. Thank you guys

Also, in theatrical productions, there can easily be multiple performers spotlit, particularly in duets.

When duets are sung in harmony, the performers often have to share the spotlight.

Be careful about bringing your outside assumptions – as @Rally indicates, in FRC the sum total of the rules are the rules that have been written down (including the Q&A answers).
