St. Louis Regional

While I was not able to attend this weekend, from the webcast I have to say what a great event! Everything was very organized and the performance from teams was great all weekend. I felt like I saw a breach every match! The regional crew did a great job dealing with the various field issues and the event ended up ending pretty early (same time as GTRE!). Also that venue looks awesome from what I could see.

Shout out To Ryan Dognaux and everyone else who helped put up the webcast! That HD stream was fantastic and the fish-eye full field was super helpful.

Thanks to Team 1675 U.P.S. and 4330 Rambunction for making a great alliance! It was fantastic to watch everyone work so well together, especially when 1675 pulled us back over after we tipped in F2.

Congrats to the Finalists 1094, 4931, and 4329 on a great finals! You guys were really good and hope to see you guys again soon at Champs! (4329 we’ll see you at Midwest!)

Also congrats to 3284 on the Chairman’s win, 2783 on the EI win, and 6034 on the Rookie All-Star win!

My head is still spinning from such a crazy weekend of up’s and down’s. A huge thanks to 1094 and 4931 for picking us to be a part of the number 2 alliance. The combination of quickly breaching, playing defense and hanging + challenging was awesome!

Congratulations to 1675, 2451 & 4330 are due. These guys played through all kinds of crazy defense with them getting tipped over and still came out every match ready to go. We knew if we could slow them down then maybe we’d have a chance and took it to 3 matches in the finals. Super competitive for week 2, can’t wait to see how this game evolves as we go forward.

A big shout out to 3284 for winning Chairman’s this year. It’s no secret that Camdenton 4-H has a great program, but watching everything they do in their Chairman’s video blew me away. Thanks for all that you do for the state of Missouri!

4329 had issue after issue pop up throughout the event and kept plugging away. I’m incredibly proud of our students and mentors for battling through and making what we had work. We plan to take a few days and then get things working even better for Chicago.

Lastly, we recorded the live stream matches. It will take a little bit to get them split up and uploaded but they will eventually all be here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx4q2eQTttq1IHfaUcxhhIo8AGpaS4Nyb

LASER 3284 is grateful for the RCA award from the MO St. Louis Regional. There were many teams worthy of this award at the event and I am sure a very difficult decision for judges. It was a great event with great competition.
Thanks to 1208 and 5583 for selecting us to the number 7 alliance and working together to set high score of 145 for the event in our first QF match. Had we noticed that our shooter camera got bent from a defensive robot in our second QF match, we may have been able to advance further.

Are you the person I spoke with yesterday in regards to the videos?

The only people I’ve talked to have been a few people on YouTube asking about when all of the videos will be uploaded. I’m doing about 15-20 matches a day so they should all be up by the end of the week. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions and I’d be happy to answer them.

A big thanks to St. Louis FIRST for purchasing the equipment used to record these matches. Having the wide view static field shot I think greatly improved the home viewing experience and allows us to have a nice match archive.

Okay, thank you so much!

Almost all of the matches should be uploaded. We have 2 videos that aren’t cooperating with YouTube and one that we apparently missed capturing. All the rest are linked on The Blue Alliance now too.
