Does anyone have the Size requirements of 2003 through this year?
Thanks!
2003-2004 was 30"x36"x60"
2005-2012 was 28"x38"x60"* (2007 had different height requirements for different weights)
2013- 112" perimterx60".
2005 was also the last year for many things: no size restrictions after the start of the match, no bumpers, wedges were legal, no limitation to the quantity of game objects possessed.
I will very rarely defend Lunacy but they did not have a limit on the number of moon rocks, empty cells, or super cells you could possess
Robots could only possess on empty cell at a time <G24-A>.
In 2005, not only did the robot dimensions change to the 28x38 that most people had become accustomed to before this year, it was also the first year with the now standard basic field dimensions of 54ftx27ft. Both of which were most likely driven by the change from 2 robot alliances to 3 robot alliances.
2006 saw the introduction of bumpers, but they did not become mandatory until 2008.
Darn my bad, 2009 is a bit hazy for me guess I forgot that rule
Introduction of standard bumpers.
We had bumpers on our 2003 robot, but counted towards our weight.
I’m pretty sure bumpers became mandatory in 2007.
Standard bumpers (Thanks Alex ) were strongly encouraged, but not mandatory that year. See <R37>](http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Community/FRC/FRC_Documents_and_Updates/2007_assets/Manual/8-The_Robot,Rev%20G.pdf).
So I guess we put on bumpers for nothing that year…
I believe 2006 also had no limit on poof balls possessed.
On the plus side 2005 was the last year to have a mostly useless autonomous period, though arguments could be made that 2007 and 2010 weren’t worth a lot of points. If I remember right only one robot per alliance could start with a game piece in 2005, and the vision targets were beyond difficult to track.
