Stage Requirements

When we score to move on to another stage. Do we have to put the 20 balls in, THEN spin the wheel or does the order not matter.

The order is necessary.

In Stages 2 and 3, You need to reach CAPACITY by scoring 20 POWER CELLS.

Once CAPACITY is reached, you can interact with the CONTROL PANEL to ACTIVATE the respective stage and begin the next.

Are you sure though? Only reason I ask is because of the following entry;

Notice the & and not then.

Later on in the screenshot it says “A stage may be ACTIVATED once it reaches CAPACITY, and a stage must be ACTIVATED before the next stage can begin charging.”

But as mentioned earlier, the 20 power cells is only one of the 2 objectives to be completed in parallel.

My team was also having this issue because of the “&” on the table

This diagram seems to strongly indicate that CAPACITY must first be reached.

I am almost certain FIRST will amend this rule in an upcoming update as it is extremely unclear.

I am assuming it is sequential, based on the phrasing of these 2 rules:

Here is the definition of capacity:

The light is off until the CAPACITY is reached, at which point it is turned on.

4.4.2, second paragraph:

The SHIELD GENERATOR has three (3) stages that need to be charged to CAPACITY and ACTIVATED
consecutively

Okay. Let me make a Flow Chart
Please Note: You MUST score all balls/power cells BEFORE using the Control panel.

Stage 1 Requirement: 9 balls + it cannot be auto (T+15 seconds)

Stage 2 Requirement: 20 balls + Min 3 Max 5 controller turns

Stage 3 Requirement: 20 balls + Correct color turn.

Energization Requirements: Stage 1-3 Complete

POWER CELLS scored after a stage is at CAPACITY generate MATCH points but do not contribute to
the next stage’s CAPACITY

You have to ACTIVATE Stage 2 before you can start working toward the 20-POWER CELL CAPACITY of Stage 3

I had some things mistaken and have corrected them.

Edited post looks correct, with the caveat that “requirement A + requirement B” means that A must be completed before B.

That is noted above that power cell requirements must be completed before controller turns.

Not sure if it was asked,
The stage requirement for the power cells 9,20,20. Are these met by the physical number of balls or the scored value of the cells entered?

Thanks

The Stage requirements are for # of physical balls, regardless of per-ball score.

From the second paragraph of 4.4.2:

Each POWER CELL, regardless of the POWER PORT opening in which it scores, counts equally toward CAPACITY.

So theoretically you can complete stage 1 in autonomous correct?

No.

You can get the Power Cell requirement in auto–hit all shots–but the OTHER requirement is that Teleop be the field state.

Also say you have no robots that can manipulate the controller, or want to focus certain robots on certain tasks. Can you continue to score points, or does point scoring stop until you move into the next stage?
