I bet the sequel to Starship Troopers will be announced any time now. Since it is probably one of the greatest movies ever made if you take out the first hour and all the dialogue and sex scenes, since they don’t belong in this type of movie.
Imagine: 10 times the violence, half the plot. It will be epic.
the first one wasnt that good…soooo i can only imagine
Starship troopers was terrible…why bother making a 2nd one?
Yes it was horrible, but I can understand his reasoning.
It’s cool to see the fights. I’m a big fan of action sequences and movies like ST have a lot of it.
One movie that is going to be cool to see but have a bad plot as well it Reign of Fire
I didn’t see the first movie because Mr Heinlein was probably rolling over in his grave at the making of it. He was adamant that NONE of his stories be made into movies, ever. This was due to the horrible experience he had with the first and last movie he did. After that he vowed “Never Again!” and repeatedly turned down offers for movie rights. Since he made his wishes on this point abundantly clear, I chose to honor the writer’s wishes by not contributing to an effort I am sure he would disapprove.
From what I heard about it, the producers kinda missed the point of the book (to put it mildy). I do recomend the book, it has some interesting things to say, especially since 9/11. I think that the movie would be somewhat different if it were made today. Mr H might even approve, after all whether it’s a “bug war” or a “terrorist war” there are still no civilians. Just ask the Israelis
In any case, I wouldn’t be too thrilled about a sequel either.

Wow. I’m glad that my fellow robotics people are anticipating ST2 as much as I am. It’s gonna be awesome!!
The book was great, the philosophy in particular.
In all of Heinlien’s books, there is useually a charactor that reprsents his viewpoints, on government, society, etc. (In The Cat who walks through walls, and those books, its Hazel!)
The movie truly did miss the point, not to mention the acting and plot (what plot?) were equally horrid.
His books are very interesting. The Cat Who Walks Through Walls in particular has scenes where you can easily pick out who is speaking on Heinlien’s behalf.
As for the movie–
clutches stomach, throws up
