Start off on the right foot

Genuine curiosity now. I’m right-handed, but always start socks on the left foot.

How does handedness correlate (or not) to starting foot for socks?

If anyone was looking for some senior thesis or undergraduate research project, you’re welcome.

EDIT: I need to do something besides troll through old CD posts.

flip a coin. Whichever foot wants to come off the floor each morning first gets a sock first, and probably a boot first.

But the real question I have is: pants before shoes, or shoes before pants?

Maybe spilt this into another thread. Don’t want to derail this high quality thread.

I just want to say as someone who compulsively puts their right sock and shoe on first to the bewilderment of friends and family, it feels good to know there are at least 88 other people on this Earth with a similar compulsion

Whenever I worry about being weird, I like to recall the words of Qui-Gon Jinn:

“There’s always a bigger fish”.

On Wednesdays and Fridays it put on my left sock first and the other days I put on my right sock first. On Sundays I do shoes then socks.

Left foot comes first unless I find I’m putting the right footed sock on that of my left foot :frowning: Shoes always come after though.

If I’m driving: right sock, [drive], left sock, left shoe, right shoe

If I’m walking: left sock, right sock, left shoe, right shoe, [walk]

This makes less sense the more I think about it…

On Wednesdays I wear pink.

I’ve done right sock -> left sock -> left shoe -> right shoe.

It’s not as weird as you think it is.

Senior year, I definitely had my shoes half on on the way to school while driving :eyes:

Personally, I put the feets on first.

Does that make you safe or out?
