Okay hear me out, for champs we need to be allowed to start on level 3. Give me 12 points for going off level 3.

I can just imagine the damage in playoffs by desperate 8th seeds

robots would probably crash into the cargoship lol

By damage, I assume you mean awesomeness. Extra points for landing in or on the cargo ship.

The true endgame: 24pts for climbing the ship!

THAT would be a yeet.

you have to climb onto the cargo ship to defeat the boss

Just run your climber in reverse. For a lot of robots, that would actually work.

If you already drive off L2, you could just drive off of 3 onto 2, turn, and drive off of L2. Probably more risk of the high-center, though.

I saw a team do this on the practice field at CIR this year, and they actually landed it.

10/10 earned my upmost respect

They were SO happy, until I kindly reminded them it was illegal, oops. It certainly made me jump when I heard a huge crash and a big cheer right outside our pit.

I’ll ask around my team and see if anyone has a video, but I don’t  sorry about that

Instant champs win if you end the match in Deep Space. Infinite CD rep if you can fill a rocket and get to space in the same match.

I like the Idea, going off level 3 would be great for getting 12 points. I think the reason they didn’t do it, it would cause the mechanisms designed to just go up and not down to redesigned so that it works both ways. which in the end could be dangerous as of robot capabilities. But I do like your idea, maybe they could come up with it next year

254 would try. So would 118 with their Saturn V

The hardwood floors in the gym aren’t that hard.

Yes totally do-able for several bots I can think of right off the top, ours would just reverse the climb process. I’d love to see the flip-bots do it, would be super cool although I assume some drivetrains might not survive the move.

It’d also be wicked watching 1114 jump off with their mechanism, but despite being built like a tank I think it might not do well with a ~4 foot drop done repeatedly.
