3 hours after registration opened, the STEMley Cup Saturday event is now closed at 24 registered teams, plus 3 spots withheld for future rookies. 12 teams registered within 60 seconds! That’s awesome!

The team list is posted here: Registered Teams – 2023 – STEMley Cup Championship

There’s still a chance that we’ll have openings on Saturday if teams cancel. We also encourage you to sign up for Overtime Sunday if you haven’t already!

I know registration fees aren’t due until end of September, but do those planning the event have a rough idea of when we may see a preliminary list of teams competing?

We’re hoping that all of the teams who registered (list posted above) will compete!

It’s been one heck of a long day, and clearly I’m not reading properly (or thoroughly :sweat_smile:). Thanks Brendan!!

48 is super excited to be registered for STEMley Cup! This is an event we’ve talked about going to since 2019, and we’re hoping to get everything in place to make our first trip to compete in Canada since 2007. See y’all there!

Sheesh. Stacked field.

We’re probably looking at worlds-or-better-quality quals matches, and ONCMP-level elims matches. Super cool!

just checking in, has the roster been updated as per the website and the team list has been finalized?

Teams have a deadline of Sep. 30 (next week) to submit their registration fee. We will finalize the roster shortly afterwards.

Just checking if the event list is now verified. We are on the waitlist for overtime Sunday but haven’t heard anything.

All of the entrants have paid, and we have pre-rookie teams assigned for both Saturday and Sunday. The team list here is up to date:
https://stemleycup.ca/registered-teams/chargedup/

so I’m sorry, but we haven’t invited anyone from the wait-list.

Looks like “TRANSFORMERS” (202400042) is from Uganda :eyes:

Not only is this shaping up to be the most competitive STEMley ever, but also the most international!

It’s getting close to the STEMley Cup Championship weekend! We’re looking forward to seeing 50 teams join us on Saturday Nov 4 and Sunday Nov 5.

For those of you joining us, there are a couple of time-sensitive items to communicate:

1) Lunch Pre-Orders

lunch pre-ordering is now available using this link: http://order.stemleycup.ca/. Given the tight schedule at one-day events we encourage teams to use the pre-order option. If so, please submit your lunch pre-orders before Monday, October 30th.

2) Hockey Cards and Commemorative T-Shirts

Our students are bringing back back the STEMley Cup Robot Trading Cards, for sale at STEMley and Overtime.
  • Please submit your robot’s information ASAP at: https://stemleycup.ca/hockey-card-form
  • Sample artwork is shown below. There will be one card for every 2023 participating team. A limited supply of previous-year cards will also be available.

A limited quantity of commemorative T-Shirts will also be available for purchase at the STEMley Cup Championship / Overtime Sunday Concession store. The shirts are designed by Victoria A (@FRCdoodles). Artwork is shown below. Dark grey and beige versions will be available:

Pre-order either item before this Friday October 20th at the same link: http://order.stemleycup.ca/

3) Rule Changes

Don’t forget to review the rule changes including the exciting addition of STEMley Cup Charge Extender Cones and Cubes.

4) Time Change

This is a reminder that daylight savings time occurs at 2 am on November 5 meaning you will get an extra hour of sleep the night before Overtime.

5) Team Information Living Document

Our event guide will be updated continuously as we get closer to the event. It includes detailed information about the event including an up-to-date team list. Check it out: https://stemleycup.ca/logistics/

For those of you who can’t join us in person, we expect to have a live stream arranged through FIRST Canada. Stay tuned for details.

See you soon!

Team 48 had a great time competing at the STEMley Cup Championship this weekend. This was our first time coming out to the event, and it was a really fun way to give our 2023 robot and season a send off.

Thank you to our partners, 1114 Simbotics, and 3739 Oakbotics! It was a great playoffs run, and we really enjoyed getting to play with you both. Also, huge shoutout to all of the volunteers that helped us load our pit in when the bus with all of our students got delayed at the boarder. We would not have been able to hit the ground running without your help!

Side note, is there any word on whether match footage will be posted? It doesn’t appear that the Twitch VOD is available, and I’d love to go back and review the matches.
