Stop button malfunction

Our first laptop is not detecting our stop button. It keeps saying that device has malfunctioned. It is still lighting up. Is there a driver for it somewhere because I cannot find it?

When this happened to us last year, we had to replace it.

It presents itself as a standard USB keyboard. There is no special driver.

Oh well thanks then do you know any reason for why this happened? Someone on my team was playing with it the other day.

Basically the cord plugged to the stop button has been messed up. If you want to use the driver station before your new stop button comes in there is a bypass. I can’t remember for sure because it is not in front of me at the moment but go to the second tab on the driver station, then go down to the stop button, the light should be off, double click on it, a pop up should come up asking if you meant to disable the stop button, continue to click on the one that says I’ll be careful, there should be a countdown, don’t be alarmed it’s not blowing up it just needs twenty seconds to disable the stop button. If you do do this have someone by the disable button so if you haven’t tried the program yet you won’t all die. Tell me if it works, good luck.

Yep that works I was just more worried about having a working one for competition. Luckily we have another one, so we are fine. Thanks for the help everyone

You won’t be using a stop button at competition events. The emergency stop function is provided by the field electronics.

I thought we had to have one at the Operators Counsel just in case something went wrong?

As Alan said, you will not use your USB Stop button on the field at your competition. There is an Emergency Stop button provided in each Driver Station on the field and the Emergency Stop functionality will be handled by the Field Control System.
