Storing Power Cells Compactly

5 power cells will take up a lot of space on the robot. Any ideas on how to store all these in an efficient manner?

Depends on your intake system… But I imagine a lot of robots will have ‘hoppers’

Oh no the 2017 flashbacks are starting already

Yeah, but at the same time that’s not very conducive to floor pickups.

we are thinking of a few methods either rotary like a revolving pistol or horizontal rotary, but we think the most efficient way would be a simple upside down belt u only issue were fighting is this prevents us from gwtting under the control panel wich would be nice

I’m thinking a linear conveyer like 2012.

Are you adding any bends? The frame perimeter will only allow you to fit ~4 horizontally

Plan is to store vertically.

I attached a picture of our 2012 robot. It was not compact by any means, but it is a good example how to incorporate the storage of the ball into the flow of the game pieces towards their shooter/launcher. It adds simplicity and does make it a little more compact then having a dedicated hopper.

Another example is team 16s 2012 robot which incorporated the hopper into the pickup mechanism.
